The leak is for real.
1) An account was found in the dump that had been used for security research purposes while working on a potential story about shady business pratices (…) with major dating services.
2) Several other known accounts were identified in the dump. They are for real, and there are real humans behind them. These accounts were not found in other known/recent breaches.
3) An anonymous source, as briefly mentioned in the guest posts at Graham Cluley's site, confirmed that their credit card data found in the dump are correct. The data includes full name, correct amount in local currency & card number. The card was still valid, so there are reasons to believe Ashley Madison hadn't really done what they maybe should have done when noticing the breach….?
